Although opera has a legacy stretching back 300 years in Madrid it was only fairly recently that the city gained a world-class company and home. The Teatro Real was completely refurbished in 1997 and converted into a dedicated Opera House. To mark this tenth anniversary Media Minds was commissioned to produce a commerative book.

Rather than focusing on what is normally seen on the stage, Media Minds decided to focus on what is normally left to the imagination - the behind the scenes. In fact it takes a tremendous amount of professionals from many departments to produce each opera.

To simplify, we divided the book into the fundamental stages behind each opera:
